三菱重工グループの三菱重工環境・化学エンジニアリング株式会社（MHIEC、社長：野口 能弘、本社：横浜市西区）は、金沢市から一般廃棄物焼却施設「金沢市東部環境エネルギーセンター」（金沢市鳴和台）の基幹的設備改良工事を受注しました。処理能力250トン／日のストーカ式焼却炉（注1）の設備を改修して、施設の長寿命化と省エネルギー化、ならびにCO2排出量の削減を目指します。受注額は43億円（税抜）で、完成は2029年3月の予定です。

- By using the beam shaping technology, which makes the beam uniform after long-distance propagation, and output current leveling technology, which reduces the atmospheric turbulence, we succeeded in transmitting 1 kW and receiving 152 W, resulting in 15% efficiency(*1).
- This achievement represents a first step toward realizing stable power supply in remote areas such as isolated islands and disaster-stricken regions, where laying power cables has previously been difficult. By using laser-based, pinpoint, on-demand power transmission, it is expected to enable a new level of flexible energy delivery, providing electricity only where and when it is needed.
